Francois Victor Tochon is a Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) where he is heading graduate studies in World Language Education. He is the research designer of Deep University and the Chairman of its Board of Trustees. He has a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics (Laval) and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology (Ottawa), and received Honorary Doctorates from two universities in Argentina and Peru, and an official appointment as Honorary Professor from Henan University of Technology in China. Tochon received the 2012 Award of International Excellence from the University of Granada, Spain, and is the President of the International Network for Language Education Policy Studies. He has been awarded the 2013-2014 medal of the Council Chairperson of the Lions Club International in Taiwan, and the 2013-2014 Quest medal of the Chairperson of the Lions Club International Foundation. He is among the 1% most visited profiles of LinkedIn, and 1% most downloaded authors from Academia. International Ambassador for isIPAL, he received the 2015 Excellence in Diversity Award from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Education, and the 2015 International Scholar Award of Shanghai Normal University.

Zuleyha Colak is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Turkish Program at Columbia University since 2010. She is Rector's Advisor on Tochon's Deep Approach Application at Suleyman Shah University. She received her B.A. in Arabic Language and Literature from Istanbul University (1998). She holds two masters’ degrees, one in comparative literature in Ottoman and Arabic Literature in Marmara University, Istanbul (2000), and the other in Central Eurasian Studies/Turkish studies at Indiana University (2003). She has a Ph. D. degree with a focus on Ottoman Language and Literature at CEUS, Indiana University¾Bloomington. Her major is Ottoman Language and Literature. She worked as a Teaching Specialist at the University of Minnesota in Global Studies and the Institute of Linguistics English as a Second Language and Slavic Studies between 2005-2010. She also worked as an Associate Instructor in the Department of Central Eurasian Studies at Indiana University-Bloomington/Indiana (2002-2005). She has been working as a Certified Proficiency Tester for Turkish for the American Council of Teaching Foreign Languages since January 2005 besides working as an external reviewer for DLI /DLPT5 for Reading and Listening Test Materials since February 2008. She has been using Tochon’s Deep Approach, a new methodological and pedagogical approach to teaching, in teaching English at SSU Prep-School in Istanbul, Turkey while she is on sabbatical for the 2014-2015 Academic year.
